Bicara Profesionalisme 30 Minit_280213
So today after school, a short talk was organized under Latihan Dalam Perkhidmatan for all teachers and staffs of SMK Kandis.
The guest was Ustaz Mustafa b. Daud, a Teachers' Training Institute lecturer cum host of a programme on Kelantan radio station.
The topic for this month is Etika Kerja dalam Islam. The 30 minute talk will be a monthly event until October to remind the school teachers and staffs about their responsibilities in their daily work.
The gist of the talk was we should be grateful because we're born in the holy religion of Islam. And we should remember that one day everybody will die so we have to keep in mind to perform good deeds daily.
Overall, it was good but the venue chosen is not conducive as the library couldn't sustain a large number of occupants comfortably.

Mentor-Mentee@PSS
In order to prepare for the departure of Form Five students after SPM, Pusat Sumber Sekolah has taken the initiative to train budding trainees from Form 1-4 to take over the tasks around the library.
The mentor-mentee programme is carried out during recess, aligning with the ideals of SMK Kandis which sets to produce students who have leadership qualities and soft skills. These qualities and skills hopefully can aid students after they leave school for tertiary education or to embark to the working world.
It is the ultimate goal of PSS SMK Kandis to nurture these qualities and skills among librarians to ensure the continuity of excellence thus showed so far by the PSS.

Description of A Famous Personality_260213
Today, for 5 Cemerlang, the presentation was resumed by Muslim, Azul and Asyraf. They presented about a poet called Hugh Doston Carberry who wrote a poem entitled 'Nature' learned in Form Five. Overall, it was good but Asyraf didn't speak because he said he was already responsible for writing the mahjong paper.
The last presentation was by Salmi, Aida and Fahmie. They presented about Tun Abdul Razak. Only Salmi and Fahmie spoke. Aida just held the mahjong paper.
In summary, I should specify that each member in the group must speak or else their presentation is invalid and they have to redo it. I could see that Mustakim didn't even participate in the group's presentation nor did he speak. His body is present but his mind is elsewhere.

Writing a Job Application and CV_250213
Today, February 25th, the class of 5 Kualiti was assigned to write a formal letter and Curriculum Vitae.
There were 29 students in the class and they were divided into 3 large groups. For each group, they were further divided into two groups; one group wrote the formal letter and another wrote the CV.
They had to work collaboratively to ensure the information shared was compatible in both the formal letter and CV. I could see the girls were committed as always but the boys, especially Azrin and Faris who were noncommittal when given the task and they were not contributing anything to the group. Saufiq was enthusiastic and kept asking me to help him with the task. Overall, more group works and collaborative tasks ensure students' interest, especially on topics that were relevant to thei life.

Description of A Famous Personality-cont'd 240213
Fatin Firhanis, Suriea and Aliza presented about Tunku Abdul Rahman, our first Prime Minister. Their flow map was drawn on a blue Manila card. I couldn't see clearly, otherwise their presentation would be good.
Next, Amri, Faizal and Khairul Azhar presented about Queen Elizabeth II. They were having some problems with the pronunciation of difficult words. They should have asked me of they're unsure.
Shahlan, Syahran and Amirul presented about Haji Leman Ahmad, a writer. Only Shahlan talked. The rest were just holding the mahjung paper.
Overall, it could have gone better, given the amount of time that was available for them to prepare.

Perjumpaan Pasukan Pandu Puteri Kali Pertama 2013_200213
Today is Wednesday and the official day for Club/Society from 2.15-3.15 pm and Badan Beruniform from 4.00-5.30 pm.
As a teacher advisor for Pasukan Pandu Puteri Malaysia together with Puan Che Asmah Che Dir, our team trained the basis of foot drill. As the leader and the Chairperson, Nurma Bt Jusoh from 5 Science led the training. Of course, we didn't get it right on the first try. But after a few (or should I say a lot) we finally managed to perfect (figuratively speaking) the foot drill. Thanks to the commitment and patience of those present (even under the hot sun), hopefully we will put the training to a good use!
