BENGKEL KEPIMPINAN GURU PUSTAKA DAN MEDIA (GPM): PENGURUSAN PUSAT SUMBER SEKOLAH (PSS) DAN ETIKA DALAM TALIAN ZON TIMUR_01-041013

Yes, the title suggested that Guru Pustaka & Media which refers to Puan Pua Lee Chu. However, as Guru NILAM, I went to the course since Puan Pua Lee Chu will be supervising PMR students for the subject of History.

The call letter said 11.00 a.m. for the briefing. However, the real briefing started at 2.30 p.m. It's too early to say how effective the course is since this is still the first day.

The course is organised by CYBERSAFE which refers to safe and ethical online experience for everyone.

Since everybody uses the Internet but most of us don't realize the invisible 'rules and regulations' over the Internet since everybody is at risk at becoming the victim of online crimes.

After all, Internet users are their own worst enemy.

MESYUARAT PEGAWAI MEJA DAN JURULATIH UTAMA KEBANGSAAN PELAKSANAAN PROGRAM iTHINK PERINGKAT NEGERI KELANTAN_300913

As the Jurulatih Utama Kebangsaan for the iTHINK Programme under the NKRA for education which try to inculcate HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) to all schools under Pelan Induk Pembangunan Pendidikan 2013-2025.

Apparently, there are two courses (Phase 1& 2) which will be held at Permai Inn Hotel from 18 to 21 November 2013 and at Hotel Grand Puteri from 25 to 28 November 2013.

Yours truly cannot confirm whether I can be there since I'll involved with both PMR and SPM marking.

 

 

 

LAWATAN PENANDA ARAS KE PUSAT SUMBER IQRA' DARI BTP PULAU PINANG & GPM NEGERI PULAU PINANG_290913

Today, we were very honoured to receive a benchmarking visit from BTP Pulau Pinang and GPM from all over Pulau Pinang.

Though the sun was scorching hot, it didn't deter our spirit to share Pusat Sumber Iqra's success of winning the second place in Anugerah Pusat Sumber Sekolah Cemerlang Peringkat Kebangsaan.

Seminar Teknik Menjawab PMR_240913

En Eh Boon Li, a legendary icon when it comes to English PMR answering technique. And SMK Kandis was lucky to welcome him for another round of Seminar Teknik Menjawab PMR for all form three students who will be sitting for PMR in 7 days.

Hopefully, amidst the heat in the hostel's hall would not be a deterrent in the students' comprehension and could help them in scoring in their English exam.

Bengkel Kerja Program Kecemerlangan PSS & Anugerah PSS Cemerlang 2013_Second day

Today, we had the chance to share our best practices at our school's Pusat Sumber.

 

 

  

The presenters were picked at random. However, SMK Kandis grab the opportunity to volunteer and present our Pusat Sumber Iqra' right next after the first presenter from SK Taman Jana with Pusat Sumber Al-Kashi.

 

The third presenter was from the SK Bukit Baru with Pusat Sumber Kasturi with a very catchy song for the corporate video. 

 

And the fourth presenter was from SMK Bandar Sg Petani with a humongous pamphlet.

Bengkel Kerja Program Kecemerlangan Pusat Sumber Sekolah & Majlis Anugerah PSS 2013_17-19 Sept 2013@Bayview Hotel, Melaka

For the past 12 months, PS Iqra' has been making preparation for Anugerah Pusat Sumber Sekolah Cemerlang Peringkat Kebangsaan.

Everybody in the school, including students and parents, teachers and staff, alumni and neighbouring community, joined hands, coming up with fresh ideas, devoting time and energy as well as providing moral support to ensure SMK Kandis and Pusat Sumber Iqra' came on top.

Now, it's the moment of truth. As I'm typing this post, we're currently having discussion to solidify the Power Point presentation that will be presented on September 18th by our Guru Pustaka and Media, Mdm Pua Lee Chu.

In keeping up with the borderless world, Virtual Learning Environment was introduced to ensure the school is always at the frontier of technology. 

Hence, the teachers of SMK Kandis were introduced to the online initiative between YTL Network with Ministry of Education.

This platform will enable teachers to keep track of T&L pedagogy while students can connect better with their teachers everywhere at anytime. Parents can also interact with teachers to monitor their children's progress.

PPD Assisted Teaching for 3 Elite Students_120913

We've been very fortunate when it comes to help received from our District Educational Office. 

Today, as I'm writing this post, Sir Kamaruzaman assisted SMK Kandis in teaching 3 Elite class, focusing on grammar.

Although at first the students seemed shy and reserved, but after the ice-breaking session, they appeared to be more willing to contribute to the session.

Hopefully, there'll be more classes to come for both PMR and SPM students!

Today, the English Panel initiated an activity using the Form Five poem. Students were required to fill in the blanks to complete the handout.

The poem was recited by Elia Nasuha from 4 Science.

Sadly, of 8 blanks, only 2 were answered by boys. Girls dominated the activity. Well, girls rule!
